Atomic wallet is one of the most popular multi-cryptocurrency software wallets available, at the time of writing this guide. The wallet is non-custodial, which means we have access to our Private keys and full control of our funds. Which brings us to the popular cryptocurrency saying “Not your keys, not your crypto”.
The wallet is available for Mobile and Desktop which makes it accessible to a wider range of users. The Mobile and Desktop versions are similar in design and built-in features, which I will talk about in this review, only difference being that the mobile version has an extra Wallet Connect feature to interact with DeFi platforms like Uniswap and Binance DEX.
At first glance
We are greeted with a cool simple interface to login to our wallet with our password, restore an existing wallet or create a brand new wallet. Here we want to create a wallet!
Fill in a password.
Write down your Recovery/backup phrase. This is the most important part. The recovery phrase gives us access to our wallet if we need to recover our funds. If anyone has access to this Backup phrase, they also have access to our funds. It’s important to keep this safe, it’s also advised not to store this online, a piece of paper or better yet on a seed protection board should do nicely.
There are regular updates to this wallet so design and features might change by the time you read this. On the dashboard of this Crypto wallet you can see the coins supported, listed from top to bottom. With the Menu tab at the left side of the app interface (for Mobile the Menu icon is located at the top right).
On the Desktop version below, we can see three icons on the top right.
The first one enables us to hide coins we don’t want to see and show them too.
The second icon, is used to add specific Ethereum tokens to the wallet using their “contract address”. Atomic wallet supports Ethereum and all ERC20 tokens. It’s also worth noting that it supports all Binance chain BEP2 tokens too.
The third button is used to refresh the dashboard to see progress of our portfolio.
ON THE MENU TAB
We can see the EXCHANGE tab, where we can exchange over 40 different coins and also receive Cashback in its native $AWC coin for doing so.
Next is the BUY CRYPTO tab where a good list of cryptocurrencies can be purchased directly with our bank card.
HISTORY tab lets us see all our previous transactions.
STAKING is a way to delegate your cryptocurrencies and earn returns on your deposit. Staking on Atomic is fully decentralized and rewards are paid directly to the user.
There is also the SETTINGS tab where we can view our cashback status, change our password, view our Private keys and buy $AWC to hold or Stake on the wallet at up to 23% APR!
The SUPPORT tab is just as important as the others too, its an easy guide to customer support, to ask our questions and get immediate answers.
Tip: When you click on your available balance, at the top of the interface for Mobile or at the top left for Desktop, you will be able to view your whole Cryptocurrency portfolio and how it’s distributed in a chart.0
